Vetle-Kroken Farm is located in one of the wildest and most
remote areas of western Norway. The farm is
operated organically, producing rabbits, chickens, strawberries and
raspberries. We also have a small wool workshop where you may learn from a variety of crafts such as natural dying techniques, spinning, felt-making and weaving. |
| The guest house itself is the oldest of the buildings
on the farmsite. We know it was built prior to 1840 for use as a larder
(and restored in 1992). It is simple in character, yet elegant. We have
chosen to preserve the old style. There is no electricity
connected to the house so when daylight begins to fade (about 11 pm in the
summer) the candles come out. There are beds for three people on each of the two floors. Guests may reserve one or both floors depending on the size of the group. Simple kitchen facilities and pit privies are available in adjoining buildings. We also have a solar heated shower for use anytime and a wood heated hot tub which can be reserved. |

In addition to the myriad of kayaking possibilities, the mountains behind the farm offer you hiking and climbing opportunities ranging from a few hours in duration to days or even weeks. Across the fjord from us lies the Jostedal Glacier where guided tours are offered daily throughout the summer months. |
